Critical Messages

Update emails
already in inboxes

Place a hidden pixel in your templates today. When something urgent happens tomorrow — an outage, a delay, a cancellation — toggle it on and every re-opener sees the alert. No resend required.

A safety net for every email you send

Place the Critical Message pixel in any or all of your email templates as a silent safety net. It sits as a 1x1 transparent pixel — invisible and free — until you need it. When something goes wrong, toggle it on and the pixel expands into a visible alert banner across every email that contains it.

Real-Time Editing

Update the message as the situation evolves

Edit the banner headline, body text, and CTA in real time from the NiftyImages interface. As an incident unfolds — from "investigating" to "resolved" — update the content without resending. Subscribers who re-open always see the latest status.

How it works

Ready in 3 steps

Place it once. Forget it until you need it.

1

Place the pixel

Add the Critical Message image tag to your email templates. It renders as a 1x1 transparent pixel — invisible to subscribers.

2

Toggle when needed

When something urgent happens, open NiftyImages, write your alert message, and flip the toggle to On. The pixel becomes a visible banner instantly.

3

Toggle off when resolved

Once the issue is resolved, toggle it back off. The banner disappears and the pixel returns to invisible. No cleanup, no resend.

Use cases

When you need to reach inboxes you've already hit

Service outages

Site down? API issues? Alert subscribers who received recent emails before the outage started.

Shipping delays

Holiday rush, weather delays, or carrier issues — notify subscribers without sending a separate "oops" email.

Event changes

Venue change, time shift, or cancellation after reminder emails went out. Update the email, not the send list.

Policy updates

Pricing changes, terms updates, or compliance notices that need to reach people who opened a now-outdated email.

Inventory stockouts

Promoted product sold out? Show an alert or swap to an alternative offer in emails already in inboxes.

Error corrections

Wrong price, broken link, or incorrect details? Add a correction banner instead of sending a follow-up "we made a mistake" email.

Cost

Free until you need it

The pixel is free to place in every template. You only pay for opens while the Critical Message is toggled on. This makes it practical to add to every email as a permanent safety net — zero cost until you actually activate an alert.

Ecosystem

Pairs with Rule Sets for staged responses

Combine Critical Messages with Rule Sets to orchestrate multi-stage incident responses. Start with "investigating," shift to "identified," and resolve with "fixed" — all without resending a single email.
